Farnoush Behzad
Born 1951 in Tehran, Iran, Farnoush Behzad started playing violin and piano in Iran when he was six. Later he completed his degree and post graduate studies in ‘Composition and Ethnomusicology’ at ‘Guildhall School of Music’ and then at the University of London. He has conducted at renowned world class venues such as the Royal Albert hall, Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall & Purcell Room.
He has composed several pieces for adaptations of Shahnameh (The book of kings) by Ferdowsi, as well as compositions based on poems of Saadi and Nima Yushij, other well known Persian poets. Behzad has also composed themes for movies, such as Twenty One (directed by Dan Boyd in 1991) and "Gone are the days of Summer" (2011).

Behzad has conducted New Philharmonic Orchestra of London and Eurasia Symphony Orchestra and is also involved in teaching mucic. He is interested in bridging East and West through music.
