Habib Mohebian, an Iranian singer-songwriter and guitarist who started his music career in high school. Habib then settled in the provinces of Western and Eastern Azerbaijan and eventually Tehran, before moving to the United States. Habib's most popular hits are Marde Tanhaye Shab, Shahla, and Madar. The song Shahla was inspired after listening to an Azari performer and not named (as is a common misconception) after his first wife (Shaadi) who tragically died due to malpractice in an Iranian hospital.
In 2003, Habib introduced his son, Mohamad, to the music world by performing in a duo album (Javooni) in an upbeat pop style, with him. In January 2010, it was reported that Habib was in Iran and even was visited by Ahmadinejad's deputy.
