دکترشیرین نوروی کار خود را با آموزش زبان فارسی به کودکان آغاز کرد. او با درجه دکترای روانشناسی بالینی وبا فوق تخصص در رشته آزمونهای روانشناسی از مرکز مطالعه کودکان " ریس دیویس" ، مرکزی را تحت عنوان "دریچه ای به سوی امید" در دو دفتر تارزانا و لس آنجلس، تأسیس کرده و به درمان مراجعان خود از طریق: مشاوره های روانشناسی در زمینه های کودکان، زوج ها، سالمندان و مشاوره قبل از ازدواج و نیز بایوفیدبک ، نوروفیدبک، تست های روانشناسی و ای ام دی آر مشغول به کار است.
او عضو فعال هیئت مدیره انجمن روانشناسان ایرانی در آمریکا Iranian Psychological Association of America میباشد. دکتر نوروی با آرزوی کمک به جامعه ایرانی مرکز خیریه حمایت خانواده PRO Family Group را در آمریکا تاسیس کرد و اکنون نیز به عنوان سر پرست این سازمان غیر انتفاعی مشغول فعالیت است. جلسات ماهیانه ی رایگان این گروه، در آخرین شنبه ی هر ماه با سرفصل های متنوع، مورد استقبال گروه های مختلف سنی قرار می گیرد. دکتر نوروی مؤلف ومترجم چندین مقاله در زمینه ی روانشناسی بودند و مقالات فراوانی هم از ایشان در بسیاری از مجلات فارسی زبان نظیر: ایرانشهر ، جوانان و .... به چاپ رسیده است. دکتر نوروی مجموعه ی سی دی هایی نیز تحت عناوین مختلف تهیه کرده اند مانند: "چگونه پدر و مادر مؤثری باشیم" و "چگونه همسر خود را انتخاب کنیم" و "چگونه با سالمندان رابطه ی سالمی داشته باشیم."

Dr. Shirin Nooravi is a well known psychologist in the Iranian American community of the greater Los Angeles area. Her focus of media experience in radio, television and print, has been programming for children, teens and elderly: conducting research, finding the appropriate guest speakers (psychologists, parents, teens), developing copy and interview questions and facilitating the program with the guests and call-in listeners.
