Black Cats is an Iranian pop music band founded by Shahbal Shabpareh, the brother of famous Iranian pop singer Shahram Shabpareh. The band plays a traditional upbeat style of Persian pop music, but are also known to bring in Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Rave and Rapcore influences into their music.
Earlier members of Black Cats included Pyruz and David (1992- 1999), Kamran and Hooman (1999-2004) and more recently Kamyar (soul singer inspired by Stevie Wonder) who all went on to become successful pop singers on their own. Although the members have changed, the founder, Shahbal continues to attract fresh musical talent into the band. In 2008, Shahbal recruited new members into the band, Sami and Eddie, and recorded an album called Dimbology.
